Reach Out Touch Me - Installation

13/02/22 Enjoying the access to spaces within the University to test out works at scale. Going to come back to this and expand on thoughts around the concept - interesting how repetition of existing works can create new ways of thinking - or new meaning, nothing is fixed.  Music track - 'Digital Horizon' [open source]

Elevator Music

Short sketch of a digital work in development, it is interesting to observe the static sculptural work transformed through the lens. Real vs Facsimile Reflecting on the work of artist Paul Sermon who uses accessible 'meta-spaces' through which co-experiences can be explored. my practice is interested in the photographic image [or portrait] as an analogue image of self as a mirrored reflection as opposed to three D generated images. Mental co-existence in space, extension of the body through technology, phenomenology of the experience. These short 'sketch' clips are created on my phone when travelling or in waiting rooms hence the reference to 'elevator music' - suspended between one place and the next - a waiting place.

Work on Show 'Subterranean' in the University for the Creative Arts Project Gallery - 06.11.21

Palliative Care for Capitalism.  Reflecting on my contribution to this two person show,  ❤ Sculpture. Perspex Vitrines, Photographic Images, Synthetic Fruit, Plastic Embellishments, Oral Mouth Swabs, Soft Padded Fabric. This test piece was a renewed exploration into a closed set of materials that are embedded in my practice.  Reflection: 05.02.21 Collaborative Work recent research has informed and reconceptualised this collaborative show - to be read alongside the sculptural work by the other artist. My work - a vitrine, suggestive of ritual, presented in the form of an advertising display, containing products and ephemera purchased from high capitalist spaces of consumption including end of life care implement's, provides a stark comparison to the organic liminal portal behind suggestive of an entrance to an alternative dimension or way of living, created by Yun Xuan.  This new reading is entitled 'Palliative Care for Capitalism' 2022  [#theexhaustedimage...
