'Vermilion Hue' has been removed from the space. 'Chandelier Piece - Reflection Looking In.' It is interesting to see these items initially as props - they are domestic objects - however within is contained an inherent transformative quality that is interesting as a potential to exploit. The use of the Vitrine - at the beginning I came into the space and spent time. I wanted the work to sit 'intelligently' and have a synergie or cohesion - as if it was meant to be there. It was a large empty void, the existing materials - the glass - the metal structures are obvious and fixed. It suggested the whole was reminiscent of a large empty Vitrine. The reception area a smaller version - one space within another. A giant Vitrine within which people operate and relate. I decided not to fight the materials but extend them into the work.
